Lisa has been providing counseling, coaching and spiritual formation, and workshop/retreat leadership for over 25 years. This has been provided for individuals and families at various stages of life. She especially enjoys and feels that her strengths/gifts lie in helping facilitate healing and life transformation through times of emotional, spiritual, relational, and social crisis, trauma, and change.

One of the more difficult times of crisis and change often occurs at the end of life. Lisa combines her many years of experience as a licensed counselor, ordained clergywoman, and certified training as an end-of-life coach, doula and educator to provide compassionate care for those who are experiencing end of life transition. Her inclusivity and vast experience over the years in working with individuals and families who were experiencing crisis, transitions, or loss has allowed her to witness the power of healing that comes through the encouragement and guidance of honoring one’s own inner healer. Such support helps bring a sense of healing and wholeness even in the sadness, grief, or pain. Lisa’s approach is one of creating safe space for individuals and families as she shares her gifts and skills of healing through empathic and reflective listening, compassionate understanding and care, sensitive and supportive coaching/counseling/decision making, and hope-filled trust and honor of the sacredness within each person. Believing in the value and importance of adhering to the Conscious Dying Principles, Lisa supports both the one who is dying and his/her loved ones by facilitating healthy communication and the making and carrying out of end-of-life decisions.

In addition to her experience as a counselor and as a pastor companioning and supporting people through the journey of life with its many mini-deaths and its end-of-life death, Lisa also brings to this work her own experiences of learning to walk through the dark valleys of loss and of death in healthy ways and of becoming more conscious and reflective of her own death. This includes navigating her own journey of grief at the death of close family members and an unexpected unwanted divorce. Additionally, through her certification training as an end-of-life coach/doula, Lisa engaged in the experience imagining and planning for her own death. Through this experience, she was able to recognize the value and importance of being conscious to one’s fears and avoidance of death so that important matters related to end-of-life and after-life care, unfinished emotional/relational business, and spiritual congruence can be prioritized and addressed. It is a practice that is not only important and valuable to those who are actively dying, but to anyone that wants to become more aware, balanced and/or prioritizing of what is important to them in both life and death.
