End of life work is Karen’s passion.
This passion to illuminate all things related to death, a time that is usually one of the darkest in most people’s lives, was first seared into Karen’s heart at birth when her sister was dying, and then seared even deeper when her mother died just 5 short years later. Losing 2 important people so young, was just the beginning of the losses she faced until she was virtually alone before her 20th birthday.
No one had prepared her for facing a life with such loss or to understand that death was a natural part of life… all lives. But through her experience as a hospice CNA, she has seen that her experience was not unique or exceptional. Many families experience similar emotional and mental upheavals around the death of someone they love.
And so, with her pain stuffed down as far as she could push it, as Karen matured, she became like a ship unmoored, with a deep grief she had no understanding of how to process and with no foresight to see how healing from it was even possible. And without a guidance system to help her regain balance and release her from that grief, as Karen came into her adulthood, she turned away from anything to do with death and ran far from her destiny and soul’s call… until now.
Now, as the result of her own deep inner emotional and spiritual work, Karen embraces what she believes she was born to do. Especially as each day draws her nearer to her own death, she knows there are messages that others also need to hear…
Death is not our enemy.
Regardless of how much or how little we think our lives are worth, death will always find us one day.
It is possible that when death comes, we can be ready and accept it, peacefully, on our terms.
No one needs to be scared or scarred by death in the way Karen’s family was… especially the children… if we prepare ourselves and prepare them before the end is upon us.
This last message is so very important, and Karen invites you to consider this premise: We owe it, yes, owe it, to the next generation, our children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, to plan for our death consciously and wisely. Why do we “owe” it to them? … because we want nothing but their happiness.
We will always be their teachers until we take our last breath. We are the way-showers, and they are watching. We can bring them gently into the unfolding of the last chapter of our lives so that they know our love is with them to the end. With this last lesson, after we’re gone, they will be comforted in their grief knowing that they did their best and that our death was a good death having used the map we had thoughtfully prepared for everyone to follow.
If your children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews mean the world to you, and of course they do, then please believe that your end of life planning could be the greatest gift you ever give them.
Karen feels so grateful and blessed to have found a way to share the lessons and the messages from her time of loss. Reach out to her now to learn how to create peace of mind that could last for your generations to come.
